Christine Brown

I was born in Nebraska and spent my formative years in Sacramento. I Graduated from Sacramento State University in Liberal Studies while working for UNFI (Mountain Peoples Warehouse). I was with UNFI for 20 years in customer service and sales, most of those years in management, and the last several years in executive management.

For many years I was a member of the Provender Alliance, a nonprofit natural food conference, and served on their board.

My hobbies include: golf (first swing was with my dad when I was 10 years old), golf travel, travel trailering, cooking, gardening, reading, gaming, mountain biking, and knitting. I also enjoy boating and being near water.

I have lived in Nevada County for 28 years. I retired eight years ago and began golfing in earnest. I joined NCCC four years ago and have been with the NCCC women’s group for three of those years and have enjoyed my time very much. I served as co-captain on the Women’s Group board in 2018 and I am currently in charge of organizing the Women’s Invitational Tournament.

I love the Country Club and look forward to the opportunity to be considered for the board.

Being an avid golfer, I’ve been pleased to serve for the past two years on our Nevada County Country Club Board of Directors. I am running for reelection to continue to represent our members’ voices and contribute to the wonderful golf course we have.

I worked for the Chevron Corp. in human resources for 12 years and as a telecom purchasing manager for 20 years before retiring in our beautiful Nevada County.

We are indeed fortunate to have such a great club with its challenging golf course and friendly membership.

It is a privilege to represent our club and I sincerely ask for your vote of support.

John Cosenza

I’ve been married to Kathy for 25 years, we have three great children. I was raised in Ventura and graduated in 1979 from Chico State. My career includes 18 years as a television broadcast engineer and operations manager at Sacramento TV stations and the State Capitol. I moved to Nevada County in 1998 and worked for video equipment manufacturers as a Product Marketing and Sales Manager until 2012.

I currently work as a freelance engineering consultant and video control operator (V1) producing live television sports.

Goals: When I’m not on the road I’m on the golf course attempting to improve my game. After five years of NCCC membership, I feel it is time to give a little back to the club and our membership. I offer my enthusiasm to help guide the club to a more enjoyable and playable experience for all members, attract new golfers and increase our membership numbers by offering the best possible small course golfing environment in the county. Our club has many challenges and projects ahead. Maybe I can help keep it in the short grass and out of the weeds.

I have been on the board for two years and have enjoyed my service to the club. I’ve lived in Grass Valley for 40 years. I graduated from Nevada Union in 1983, served 8 years in the Army and ran a heavy equipment section as a combat engineer during the Gulf War.

After I returned home I worked for my parents, Chuck and Kathy Ryan at Super Wholesale Plumbing and Heating Supply. After they sold the business in 1999, I along with a partner opened our own very success- ful supply house in Nevada City, Premier Plumbing and Irrigation Supply. We sold this company and I then ran my own successful landscaping business for a number of years.

I am the current President of the Board and wish to continue as a member. We have accomplished a lot over the past year. I would like to help maintain this momentum and pursue with vigor efforts to help improve our product as a club.
